Recognition by industry peers and investors wins Luxexcel special association with Department of Economic Development of Taipei City
Eindhoven, The Netherlands July 27th ,2021 – Advanced optics company Luxexcel has been named as the ‘Most Promising Technology Company’ at a prestigious Europe-Asia technology trade event hosted online in Taipei. More than 100 representatives drawn from Dutch and Taiwan based startup companies participated in this month’s event, which was aimed at improving co-operation between Eindhoven and Taipei, two of the world’s leading technology cities.
Judged by a prestigious panel of six major companies and private-equity representatives, Luxexcel won its award within the context of startups globally who are determined to pursue innovation despite the many challenges of the current global marketplace.

In winning this award, Luxexcel, producer of the world’s first 3D-printed lenses, was granted the desirable ‘soft landing’ status by Commissioner Lin Chung Chieh of the Department of Economic Development of Taipei City. The event was co-organized by Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Taipei City Government, opened by Mayor Wen-Je Ko of Taipei through a pre-recorded video.
Mayor Ko emphasized the cooperation between Taipei and The Netherlands in various fields, especially in innovation and startup exchanges with Eindhoven, while Mayor Jorritsma remarked that the Dutch and Taipei startups are from different cultures but speak the same language, and that former delegations he led have seen many positive results, including to InnoVEX TAIPEI.
Contributions to this online gathering emphasized cooperation between Taipei and the Netherlands in various fields, especially in innovation and startup exchanges with Eindhoven. The jury, drawn from the startup business community, plus representatives of private equity, consisted of Kuan-Ting Chen, CEO & Co-founder of FunNow; Arthur (Yen Yu) Chen, Managing Partner at BE Accelerator, Yan Lee, Founder & Managing Partner at Hive Ventures; Vincent, Wei-chung Wang, Managing Partner & Chairman of Sunsino Venture Group; Noel SY C., Associate Director of Drive Catalyst; and Ted Chang, CTO of Quanta Computer Inc.
